Location and Pickups

We started out in the Summerville/Charleston area. In 2025, we relocated to a small town near the Orangeburg and Aiken county lines, choosing a quieter, more rural setting to give the dogs more space and my program room to grow and evolve.  The closest towns to us are: Salley, SC and Wagener, SC.

I still offer Summerville pickups and simply ask that families are flexible to minimize travel on my end.

Process

Below is a general timeline outlining what families can expect from application through pickup.

Visitation Policy

For various reasons related to puppy health, safety, and scheduling, in person visits are not permitted.  Puppies are raised in my home, and limiting exposure is important to keeping them- and future litters- healthy. You will meet your puppy on pickup day.

Application and Waitlist

How My List Works

  • Applications are always open

  • Approved families are added to a general interest list

  • Being on the interest list does not guarantee a puppy; no formal commitment has been made at this stage

After a Breeding Takes Place

  • A litter- specific waitlist is formed

  • I accept a limited number of holding fees (two per gender, per litter)

  • Remaining families stay on the interest list and are contacted again after birth, once details of the litter are known

  • Holding fees secure a spot on the reservation list

Important notes

  • A puppy is not promised until a holding fee is received

  • Families should expect to wait several months from application to pickup day

  • If you are on my list and your plans change or you find a puppy elsewhere, please be courteous and let me know so I can make room for other interested families

Puppy Selection

Puppy selections take place after the puppies see the vet around 6 weeks of age.  To help families with the selection process, I provide plenty of photos and videos, updates at least twice a week, and detailed personality notes closer to selection time.  Selections must be made during the designated pick window.  If a selection is not made during that time, the family will move to the end of the list.  I believe families should have the ultimate say in which puppy joins their home, but I also view puppy selection as a collaborative process and am always happy to work together to help guide that decision.

Pricing

Raising puppies properly requires a significant investment of time, care, and resources. Puppy pricing reflects the extensive work that goes into each litter, including health testing, prenatal care, puppy curriculum and socialization, and ongoing support for our puppy families.  Pricing is in line with other responsibly bred Golden Retrievers and may vary depending on the specific pairing and litter.

A holding fee is required to reserve a puppy, with the remaining balance due at or before pickup. Pricing details are provided on the application. If you’d like information about a planned litter or have questions before applying, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m always happy to chat about dogs :)

How Puppies are Raised

All puppies go home with limited AKC registration and are raised in my home with love and intention- never in a kennel environment.  I use a structured, intentional approach that prioritizes building a foundation and real-life readiness.  I incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), safe socialization, parts of the Puppy Culture program, and desensitization techniques.  Puppies are started on potty training and intro to crate training.  From around 3 weeks of age, puppies have a designated potty area in their space and use it with a great deal of success.  Weather permitting, we also begin working on traditional outdoor potty training.  Other areas we touch on: intro to basic cues, manding, early recall exposure..  My goal is to prepare puppies for the realities of everyday life once they leave me.  Over the years, I've developed my own approach with guidance from Puppy Culture, other breeders, and my own hands-on experience.

Health, Vet Care & Guarantees

Puppies are dewormed bi-weekly, microchipped, and receive their first vaccine before going home.  Microchips are registered with me permanently listed as an alternate contact, providing an extra layer of protection to help ensure owners can be quickly reached if a puppy is ever lost.  I provide a one-year health guarantee, and families receive a copy of my contract before committing so expectations are clear upfront.

Ongoing Support & Responsibility

I offer lifetime breeder support and have a return policy in place, as I do not want my puppies to ever end up in a shelter.  I put a great deal of time and care into raising my puppies and truly appreciate staying in touch with families and receiving updates throughout their lives.

Health Testing

Both sires and dams have completed genetic health testing through Paw Print Genetics or Animal Genetics, as well as OFA testing.  More information on individual dogs can be found on the Adult Dogs page.

Lines, Energy & Lifestyle Fit

I began incorporating field line Golden Retrievers into my program back in 2021 and quickly fell in love with them.  These dogs come from well-established, proven lines with generations of health testing behind them.  While some of my dogs are considered "field line," I do not hunt with them.  My focus is on producing healthy, well-rounded companions for active families, not specifically working dogs.

My Goldens are raised as family dogs first and foremost, but they are athletic, intelligent, and capable of excelling in many avenues when given appropriate outlets.  Field line Goldens are generally smaller, leaner, and more athletic in build compared to traditional Goldens.

Overall, my breeding program emphasizes producing active Golden Retrievers that enjoy being involved in daily life- whether that includes hiking, training, dog sports, hunting, outdoor adventures, or structured play- while still being wonderful companions in the home.

Field line Goldens : Denali, Birdie, Baker, Echo

Traditional Goldens: Nova, Leo (retiring 2026)

Field-traditional blend Goldens: Rogue (Denali x Leo), Chevy (Birdie x Leo)

Pupdates

For each litter, I create a private Facebook group where I share regular "pupdates."  I try to take a few minutes every couple of days to post updates for families- sometimes they're educational and explain where we are developmentally, and other times they're just cute photos and videos.

New families will also be invited to a puppy family group that includes families from my past litters.

About Me

My name is Jenna.  I started breeding Golden Retrievers in 2017, but I had been involved in breeding for a large part of my life prior to that.  My passion for breeding was influenced by my family’s experience with a few litters during my childhood and teen years.  I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember and caring for animals- especially puppies- is something that always came naturally to me.

The movie, Homeward Bound, is what first made me want a Golden Retriever. Unfortunately, I wasn’t allowed to have a big dog at the time, so I just loved them from a distance for a while.  In 2004, I got my first Golden, he was a surprise for my birthday.  His name was Chevy (you may notice a car name theme with my dogs) and he absolutely made me fall in love with the breed.  Chevy was neutered and never had any puppies, but he lived a very happy life as a family dog.  I consider him a huge part of my program because without him and the love for the breed, there would be no breeding program today. There's something special about the dogs we have in our twenties- they see so many versions of us.  The role dogs play in our lives is so incredibly meaningful, and that's something I've always carried with me.   I love that I get to play a small part in helping families begin a relationship that will shape their lives for years to come—one built on trust, companionship, and unconditional love.

Beyond raising puppies, my main goal is ensuring they are placed in the very best homes and that those families are set up for success.  My job doesn't end the day puppies leave- I hope the relationship between my puppy families and myself lasts 12+ years.  I want families to feel comfortable reaching out with questions at any point and never feel like they're a burden.  Ongoing support is a huge part of being a responsible breeder.

I value clear communication and always strive to be open, honest, and thorough.  I believe that transparency and clear expectations are key to a positive experience for everyone involved.

I reserve the right at any time to deny an application or return a holding fee and find a more suitable home, for any reason.

Thank you for your interest, I look forward to chatting with you about your new best friend.

What comes with my Puppy?

What Comes With My Puppy

Each puppy goes home with a thoughtfully prepared puppy pack, which includes both a physical goodie bag and access to important digital resources. To reduce unnecessary printing, I now provide a digital version of all handouts that were previously included in paper folders, making everything easier to access and keep organized.

Before going home, puppies will have:

  • Been dewormed multiple times

  • Received their first puppy vaccine

  • Been microchipped

Paperwork & Records

Each family receives the following documentation:

  • Limited AKC registration paperwork

  • Copies of the parents’ health testing

  • My veterinarian’s information

  • The puppy’s individual canine health record

  • A contract that includes a one-year health guarantee

  • Additional litter-specific information as applicable

Puppy Pack Goodies

While items may vary slightly by litter or individual puppy, every puppy pack always includes:

  • A blanket that smells like mom and littermates

  • A small bag of the food the puppy has been eating

  • Probiotics

  • An emergency sticker

  • An exercise guideline booklet

  • A few toys

Lifetime Breeder Support
I offer lifetime breeder support for every puppy I raise. This means I am always available to answer questions or help troubleshoot concerns—whether that’s right after pickup or ten years down the road. No question is too small.  I bring years of hand-on experience, ongoing education, and an understanding of canine health, behavior, and development. If something comes up that I don’t immediately have an answer to, I am happy to research or consult my trusted network of veterinarians and fellow breeders so we can work through it together.

Snuggle Puppy Breeder Discount

Starting in fall 2025, I’m excited to offer families access to my breeder discount on Snuggle Puppies. These can be ordered directly through me and added to your puppy’s pack. My breeder pricing is typically $10–$20 less than retail, and a group order will be placed around the 5-week mark for each litter.

Beyond the Puppy Pack

More important than what comes with your puppy is what is poured into them during their time with me—early care, socialization, structure, and an incredible amount of time, love, and intention.
